CREAMFIELDS FANS SPEAK OUT

Research undertaken by the UK’s Number One dance festival, Creamfields has revealed that 84% of those attending this year’s 10th Anniversary event will be camping. A staggering number considering this is the first year camping will be featured in this inaugural 2 day event.

Organisers of the festival have held a public survey with over 1000 people responding to questions ranging from where they’re travelling from to what artiste they’re most looking forward to seeing each day.

From the results shown it appears DJ’s still rule with Paul van Dyk and Tiësto coming out top as the most popular artistes each day, closely followed by Kasabian and Ian Brown, proving that this year’s fresh diverse line-up has been well received, and that dance fans also love to rock!

Other entries that made it into the Top 10 are Fatboy Slim and Pendulum. With debut performers Eric Prydz, Deadmau5 and Gorillaz Soundsystem making a strong showing. Along with Creamfields regulars Erick Morillo, David Guetta, Sasha, Pete Tong, Eddie Halliwell, Paul Oakenfold, Underworld and the Swedish House Mafia all hitting the top 10.

With over 10 stages each day to choose from, Cream still reigns supreme with it coming in as the most popular across the weekend. However, with an arena line up that includes the likes Paul van Dyk, Tiësto, Sasha, Paul Oakenfold, Ferry Corsten and Eddie Halliwell, it’s not surprising. Others that came out top in the popularity stakes were the Main Stage, which will be the platform for the likes of Kasabian, Fatboy Slim, Gossip, Soulwax, Chic Featuring Nile Rodgers and Hercules & Love Affair, followed by the Chibuku/Radio 1 Arena which will be headlined by Ian Brown. Not far behind was the Subliminal Arena headed up by Erick Morillo, Dubfire and Felix Da Housecat.

Over 31% of tickets sold to date are from the Northwest, followed by London, Midlands and Yorkshire, however one of the most surprising entries was from international sales with 9%, travelling from as far afield as Australia, this high number is no doubt in response to the success of the festival internationally coupled with the addition of camping.

Cream CEO James Barton comments: ““We’ve had an amazing response to the survey and it makes for interesting reading I have to say. It also proves how vocal our customers are, which is great for us, as it gives us an opportunity to analyse the data and respond to it”
